San Antonio, Texas — According to state and local economic development sources Girls Inc. of San Antonio plans to invest $800,000.00 to build out 4,330 square feet of new space in San Antonio. The company plans to occupy the new space at 2210 Basse Road in San Antonio, on or about November 1, 2021. According to the company website Girls Inc. of San Antonio is an affiliate of the national Girls Incorporated organization that was established locally in November 2004. With a mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, Girls Inc. of San Antonio helps girls age 6 to 18 overcome barriers that prohibit them from achieving their personal, educational, and career goals. Girls Inc. of San Antonio offers pro-girl, evidence based programs that help girls lead healthy, educated, and independent lives. Some of the most popular programs include the organization’s: Glenda Woods Girls University. S.T.E.A.M.. Spring Break Camp. Girls Empowerment Conference. Girls Rockit Into the Future Science Festival. While the organization is not the only girl-focused program, Girls Inc. is the only girl-serving institution in the community that is trauma-informed and provides a holistic learning experience for girls outside of standard school hours.
