Leander, Texas — According to state and local economic development sources Texas Humane Heroes plans to invest $7,000,000.00 to build out 20,000 square feet of new space in Leander. The company plans to occupy the new space at 10930 East Crystal Falls Parkway in Leander, on or about October 1, 2023. According to the company website Texas Humane Heroes is a No Kill, private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with dog and cat adoption centers in Leander (Greater Austin Metropolitan area) and Killeen, Texas. Established in 1979, Texas Humane Heroes enhances the lives of pets and people through adoption, availability of our low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics as well as family-friendly community events. We take pets from a 5% chance at life to a 100% chance at a loving home. We rescue pets from municipal shelters, some with save rates as low as 5%, and provide them the opportunity to give and receive love. The problem of overcrowded municipal shelters and pets being put to sleep is a state-wide issue and requires a big vision. Our mission is to build a system to find a loving home for every Texas pet in need.
