Indianapolis, Indiana — According to state and local economic development sources, IBEW Local 1393 plans to invest $1,000,000.00 to build out 4,753 square feet of new space in Indianapolis. The company plans to occupy the new space at 3719 S East St in Indianapolis, on or about August 1, 2023. According to the company website Local 1393 is very diverse and we represent approximately 3,100 members throughout the state of Indiana, covered by 42 different contracts, including 22 Rural Electric Membership Cooperatives, Hoosier Energy, Vectren Energy (a CenterPoint Energy Company), Duke Energy, two municipal utilities and outside line construction. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers is comprised of many smaller entities called Locals. Locals are organized by the type of work that they serve within a given jurisdiction This is done so that there is simple and effective organization amongst the many members of the IBEW. In addition, a Local may be comprised of many units, which can be formed by geographic location, employer, or the type of work. Local 1393 is comprised of 12 units and we represent work throughout Indiana.
