Independence, Missouri — According to state and local development sources, Comprehensive Mental Health plans to invest $2,500,000.00 to build out new space in Independence. The company plans to occupy the new space at 17844 E 23rd St S in Independence, on or about April 1, 2024. According to the company website For over 50 years Comprehensive Mental Health Services has been the safety-net provider offering behavioral health services to Eastern Jackson County as well as providing substance use services throughout Eastern Jackson County and Kansas City. In 2021, CMHS merged with Burrell Behavioral Health and continues to operate under the CMHS name.
