Baton Rouge, Louisiana — According to state and local development sources, Louisiana Lottery Corporation plans to build out 28,173 square feet of new space in Baton Rouge. The company plans to occupy the new space at 555 Laurel St in Baton Rouge, on or about June 1, 2024. According to the company website The Louisiana Lottery Corporations mission is to maximize revenue for the state of Louisiana while upholding the highest standards of integrity and public trust. Established in 1991 by an act of the Louisiana Legislature and subsequently approved by voters, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation has become a regular source of funding for public education. Every year, we transfer at least 35 percent of our revenue to state government, one of the highest percentages in the country. Around 53 percent of revenue generated by the Louisiana Lottery is paid out in prizes to players. Louisiana businesses benefit as well, with more than five percent of revenue paid to nearly 3,000 retailers that sell our tickets. Just six percent of revenue is retained to operate the Lottery, which is totally self-funded. The Louisiana Lottery offers about 30 different scratch-off games at any given time with prices of $1, $2, $3, $5 and $10. In addition, the Lottery offers six draw-style games, including the multistate, multimillion-dollar jackpot games Powerball and Mega Millions. State-based games include Lotto with a starting jackpot of $250,000 and Easy 5, with a starting jackpot of $50,000. Daily draw games include Pick 3 and Pick 4.
