Sweeny Community Hospital to spend $7 Million to occupy 4,018 square feet of space in Sweeny Texas.
Sweeny, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Sweeny Community Hospital plans to invest $700,000.00 to build out 4,018 square feet of new space in Sweeny. The company plans to occupy the new space at 305 N McKinney in Sweeny, on or about October 1, 2024. According to the company website In 1963, the Sweeny Hospital District was established by the Texas Legislature after the community not only saw a great need for healthcare closer to home, but a 10-year community effort to expand health care into our area. Groundbreaking occurred on July 28, 1964 and the doors first opened to Sweeny Community Hospital that next year. Remodels have taken place throughout the years but new growth was obtained with the addition of The Fountains Assisted Living in 2006 shortly after the new Medical Office Building was completed in 2005. Since the time of its opening in 1965, Sweeny Community Hospital has continued to grow and expand its services offered to the West of the Brazos Community, while keeping true to the traditions that helped to found the hospital district. In addition to our main hospital campus located in Sweeny, we have medical offices in Sweeny and West Columbia. We also are involved within the community throughout multiple areas with main focus on West of the Brazos population.
