Fulton, Alabama — According to state and local development sources, Canfor plans to invest $19,300,000.00 to expand into new space in Fulton. The company is creating 64 new jobs at this facility. The company plans to occupy the new space in Fulton, on or about January 1, 2025. According to the company website Canfor is a world leading manufacturer of wood products like lumber for building houses and construction, pulp and paper, wood pellets and green energy. We have a history dating back to 1938 in Western Canada and have grown into a successful global company with people, customers, operations and sales offices around the world. Our performance supply chain management and logistics support provides second-to-none service to valued customers in North America and offshore. We move our products to North American customers by rail and truck, and ship products from Western Canada to offshore markets through the ports in Vancouver or Prince Rupert. We sell Southern Yellow Pine products primarily in the U.S. market. Our trucking division, New South Express, is located in Myrtle Beach, SC, and moves product in the U.S. Southeast. Our operations in Alabama export products to the Caribbean through the Port of Mobile.
