Fort Worth, Texas — According to state and local development sources, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame plans to invest $16 Million to build out 17,800 square feet of new space in Fort Worth. The company plans to occupy the new space at 1720 Gendy Street in Fort Worth, on or about August 1, 2026. According to the company website The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame honors and celebrates women, past and present, whose lives exemplify the courage, resilience and independence that helped shape the West, and fosters an appreciation of the ideals and spirit of self-reliance they inspire. The Museum proudly celebrates living and deceased Honorees who represent diverse backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures. The Museum Board of Directors is proud that over the last five years significant progress has been made in identifying and honoring women of color in the Museum’s Hall of Fame. However, more progress is needed. Consequently, the Museum will remain diligent in its efforts to seek out and honor Black, Indigenous, and other women of color, past and present, whose stories have been underrepresented in the history of the West.
