Alamance Foods to spend $42,000,000.00 to expand into new space in Graham North Carolina.
Graham, North Carolina — According to state and local economic development sources Alamance Foods plans to invest $42,000,000.00 to build out new space in Graham. The company plans to occupy the new space at 770 West Interstate Service Rd. in Graham, on or about October 1, 2023. According to the company website Over 100 years ago, Alamance Foods, Inc., had humble beginnings when R.W. Scott began selling the extra cream and butter that he churned primarily for his family. In 1927, Ralph H. Scott expanded his fathers business and established the Melville Dairy. The Melville Dairy quickly became a major provider of milk, butter, and cream to the people of Alamance County, North Carolina. In 1959 Melville Dairy was selected as a franchise producer of a revolutionary new product, Aerosol Whipped Cream! Alamance Foods (AFI), was established as a separate company for this exciting new product, making us one of the first producers of aerosol whipped cream in the United States. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, AFI expanded further by entering into the manufacture of flavored drinks, freezer pops, and bottled water. Our Triton brand water was the first multi-pack water in the nation. AFI has pioneered many additional inventions over the years. Alamance Foods manufactures branded and private-label water, flavored drinks, and freeze pops under brand names such as Freeze Pops, Fun Pops, and Happy Drinks. The company’s branded water is sold under the Triton Water label and its aerosol whipped cream under the Classic Cream brand.
