Apple Valley Fire Protection District to spend $425,000.00 to occupy new space in Apple Valley Minnesota.
Apple Valley, Minnesota — According to state and local development sources, Apple Valley Fire Protection District plans to invest $425,000.00 to build out new space in Apple Valley. The company plans to occupy the new space at 13995 Galaxie Ave in Apple Valley, on or about December 1, 2023. According to the company website The Fire District serves a population base of approximately 85,000 residents within its 206 square miles of jurisdiction. The Distict offers a full range of emergency services. These services include fire suppression, prevention, rescue, hazardous materials, and emergency medical services for advanced life support and basic life support response. In November 2016, the voters of Apple Valley passed an on-going special tax measure with a 77% voter approval rate. This special tax measure revenue allowed for the recent hiring of 15 additional fire suppression personnel and the reopening of two additional fire stations. With an $11 million annual budget and 61 employees, the Fire District operates five fully staffed fire stations. The District also operates a fleet maintenance facililty. In 2017 the District responded to more than 11,000 calls for service.
