Edinburg, Texas — According to state and local economic development sources City of Edinburg plans to invest $11,500,000.00 to build out 36,852 square feet of new space in Edinburg. The company plans to occupy the new space at Southwest Corner of N. 8th Street & McIntyre in Edinburg, on or about December 1, 2023. According to the company website The City of Edinburg has a population of more than 85,000 and is the county seat of Hidalgo County. Edinburg is home to many businesses, neighborhood developments, entertainment, and is also home to one of the UT Systems leading schools, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Founded on Oct. 10, 1908 and was known as Chapin. Records indicate a Commission form of government was incorporated on Sept. 19, 1919, that at first consisted of one mayor and two commissioners. On May 5, 1928, a City Charter was adopted and recorded with the Secretary of State. On April 5, 1949, the present City Charter, and City Council-City Manager form of government was adopted and has been amended several times. Edinburg is a pro-business community with an excellent quality of life, educational facilities and strong civic pride. It has been recognized as an All-America City three times by the National Civic League, placing it among a handful of outstanding communities in the nation.
