Durham, North Carolina — According to state and local economic development sources Cree plans to invest $1 Billion to build out 253,000 square feet of new space in Durham. The company plans to occupy the new space at in Durham, on or about January 1, 2024. According to the company website Cree is an innovator of Wolfspeed power and radio frequency (RF) semiconductors, lighting-class LEDs and lighting products. Cree’s Wolfspeed product families include silicon carbide materials, power-switching devices and RF devices targeted for applications such as electric vehicles, fast charging inverters, power supplies, telecom and military, and aerospace.
