Delta Peanut to spend $50,000,000.00 to expand into new space in Kennett Missouri.
Kennett, Missouri — According to state and local economic development sources Delta Peanut plans to invest $50,000,000.00 to build out new space in Kennett. The company plans to occupy the new space in Kennett, on or about September 1, 2022. According to the company website Headquartered in Jonesboro, Delta Peanut is a 100% farmer owned peanut shelling facility that will be the first of its kind in Arkansas. Delta Peanut owners include farmers from the Missouri Bootheel, Arkansas, and Northeast Louisiana. Our state-of-the-art shelling facility is being constructed on a 71-acre site in the Craighead County Technology Park in Jonesboro and is expected to begin shelling in the spring of 2020. The shelling facility will shell over 180,000 tons of peanuts annually when running at maximum capacity. Approximately 60,000 tons of those peanuts will be on-site in Jonesboro stored in three warehouses and one surge warehouse. The balance of the production will be handled by our partner buying points in Pocahontas and Marianna, Arkansas.
