San Antonio, Texas — According to state and local economic development sources Gen3 Biosciences plans to invest $590,000.00 to build out 4,781 square feet of new space in San Antonio. The company is creating new jobs at this facility. The company plans to occupy the new space at 11933 Network Boulevard in San Antonio, on or about April 1, 2020. According to the company website Gen3Bio generates profits from waste algae using a proprietary enzyme blend to extract fats, sugars and proteins from algae and further converting them into specialty chemicals. The initial primary market is the 16,000+ municipal wastewater treatment facilities in the US and Canada that could use algae technology to dramatically reduce the nutrients discharged in the treated water. Over existing technologies, Gen3Bio increases algae product yields up to 50%, reduces capital requirements up to 90% and reduces operating expenses up to 50%.
