Burnet, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center plans to invest $3,500,000.00 to build out 9,854 square feet of new space in Burnet. The company plans to occupy the new space at 1001 N. Hill Street in Burnet, on or about June 1, 2024. According to the company website Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center is the first line of defense for child abuse cases in eight counties; Burnet, Blanco, Llano, Mason, Mills, San Saba, Brown and Lampasas. Services we provide free of charge to our victims; Professional Team Approach, A Safe Child Friendly Place, Yello Dyno Educational Programs, Forensic Interviews, Counseling & Therapy, Medical Exams. We provide agency coordination from outcry to conviction. We are a 501c3 non profit and rely on our communities for the majority of our funding. We do receive money from some state and federal grants but those are drying up quickly. Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center served 321 children and their non offending families in 2010 and 324 in 2011. One in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abuse by their 18th birthday.
