Chicago, Illinois — According to state and local economic development sources Illinois Institute of Technology plans to invest $2,800,000.00 to build out new space in Chicago. The company plans to occupy the new space at 3100 S Michigan Ave in Chicago, on or about April 1, 2021. According to the company website Based in the global metropolis of Chicago, Illinois Tech is the only technology-focused university in the city. It offers degrees in engineering, science, architecture, business, design, human sciences, applied technology, and law. In 1890 Illinois Institute of Technology was founded in order to lift up people of all backgrounds with education that would help them meet the needs of the age. Rankings based on the United States Department of Education College Scorecard, which offers the public access to years of federal government data on U.S. colleges and universities, show that 130 years on, Illinois Tech is fulfilling its mission.
