Washington, DC — According to state and local economic development sources Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan plans to invest $3,033,500.00 to build out 25,993 square feet of new space in Washington. The company plans to occupy the new space at 77 K St NE in Washington, on or about January 1, 2022. According to the company website The Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC) is a part of the Public Affairs Section of the Embassy of Japan in Washington D.C. The JICC is committed to enriching the relationship between Japan and the United States through an active, vibrant cultural exchange. We aim to promote a better understanding of Japan and Japanese culture by providing a wide range of information and diverse cultural programming. For the past few decades, the JICC has provided the residents of District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland with an exciting artistic, educational, and cultural dialogue, often in partnership with local institutions like the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the Smithsonian Institution, and many more. Through our Educational Program, we invite students and adults from around the DMV to join us and explore the rich, dynamic history of Japanese culture. From samurai to robots to business etiquette, we welcome all ages to the Center to develop a deeper cultural awareness. For the past 35 years, the JICC has provided residents of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia with an exciting, artistic dialogue through our cultural events and educational programming. We look forward to providing all our guests, new and old, with a variety of excellent cultural opportunities.
