
La Vega Independent School District to spend $4,200,000.00 to occupy 31,800 square feet of space in Waco Texas.
Waco, Texas — According to state and local development sources, La Vega Independent School District plans to invest $4,200,000.00 to build out 31,800 square feet of new space in Waco. The company plans to occupy the new space at 4401 Orchard Lane in Waco, on or about January 1, 2026. According to the company website The La Vega Independent School District was formed in 1927 from the consolidation of the Pecan Grove, Oak Grove, and West Brook Schools. Patrons of the new La Vega schools immediately elected a board whose first mission was to hold a bond election for the purchase of suitable grounds, construction of a school building, and needed equipment. Fifty thousand dollars was approved to meet these needs. Additional funds were received from the sale of the property of the Pecan Grove, Oak Grove, and West Brook Schools. On February 7, 2004 the residents of the La Vega Independent School District approved a $16,000,000 bond election.
