Kingwood, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Montgomery County ESD #6 plans to invest $6,300,000.00 to build out 10,925 square feet of new space in Kingwood. The company plans to occupy the new space at 21106 Royal Crossing Dr. in Kingwood, on or about December 1, 2025. According to the company website Porter Fire Department operates three career Fire Stations supervised by an on-duty Battalion Chief each day. The department is on a 48/96 work schedule and has 3 shifts. Montgomery County ESD #6 employs 64 staff members who work in the stations and behind the scenes to serve you everyday. Our department was originally established in February 1962 as a volunteer department. Montgomery County ESD #6 (Porter Fire Department) is responsible for the coverage of 52 square miles. Porter Fire Department is located in South East Montgomery County on the Highway 59 corridor just on the outskirts of Houston, Texas. We are a rapidly growing community that currently has over 44,000 residents. Montgomery County ESD #6 provides structural fire protection, basic rescue services, water rescue, wildland firefighting, fire prevention, and fire education services.
