Porter, Texas — According to state and local development sources, New Caney Independent School District plans to invest $70 Million to build out 215,100 square feet of new space in Porter. The company plans to occupy the new space at 2700 FM 1314 in Porter, on or about April 1, 2027. According to the company website New Caney Independent School District encompasses 86.48 square miles, located approximately 25 miles northeast of downtown Houston, Texas in Montgomery County. Originally organized as a common school district in 1938, voters approved a proposition to convert to an independent school district, Jan. 12, 1957. Today, New Caney ISD is among the fastest growing school districts in Texas. Enrollment has grown to more than 19,000 students and 20 campuses.
