Middletown, Delaware — According to state and local economic development sources New Castle County Libraries plans to invest $24,000,000.00 to build out 25,000 square feet of new space in Middletown. The company is creating 20 new jobs at this facility, and plans to occupy the new space at East Main Street (Route 299) and Catherine Street in Middletown, on or about March 1, 2022. According to the company website The New Castle County Government is a Executive-Council form of municipal government. The county is headed by a County Executive, who is elected to a maximum of two, consecutive four-year terms. The Chief Administrative Officer, who is the County’s second-in-command, is appointed by the County Executive and serves at his or her pleasure. The county’s legislative body is a thirteen-member County Council, consisting of twelve members elected by district and one Council President elected at large. New Castle County, Delaware is located on the eastern seaboard of the United States, is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware Bay, as well as by the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. New Castle County consists of 437 square miles and a population of 526,000.
