Our Next Energy to spend $1.6 Billion to occupy 659,589 square feet of space in Belleville Michigan.
Belleville, Michigan — According to state and local economic development sources Our Next Energy plans to invest $1,600,000,000.00 to build out 659,589 square feet of new space in Belleville. The company plans to occupy the new space at Crossroads Distribution Center in Belleville, on or about January 1, 2025. According to the company website Our Next Energy (ONE) is paving the way for an electric future, innovating energy storage technologies that will rapidly expand the worlds ability to access sustainable power. We are showing the world what’s possible, rapidly clearing hurdles that stand in the way of mass clean energy adoption: extending range, increasing safety, lowering cost and, of course, using the cleanest chemistries. ONE is accelerating the world’s progress toward net zero emissions. We’re doing that in three ways: We’re doubling the range of electric vehicles, so people will be comfortable with an electric vehicle as their only vehicle. We’re putting safety first, using chemistry and pack design to reduce the risk of thermal runaway. We use safe LFP and anode-free chemistries with a system-level design approach that finds new ways to fit greater energy density into the pack. We use sustainable, abundant materials that are lower in cost and resistant to global supply issues. We are building a sustainable North American supply chain that replaces expensive nickel and cobalt with plentiful iron and manganese.
