The company plans to occupy the new space at 349 FM 1554 in Alice, on or about April 1, 2026. According to the company website The Rural Economic Assistance League, Inc. (REAL) is a non-profit organization established in 1972 with the mission to provide safe, caring and quality community-centered services for the elderly, persons with disabilities and the general public by assisting them and their families in maintaining an independent and fulfilling life. REAL, Inc. is governed by a volunteer 12 member board of directors and employs approximately 320 staff. Rural Economic Assistance League, Inc. (REAL) was formed in 1973 and in 1985 initiated public transportation services for seniors and persons with disabilities. In 1995, REAL became a Rural Transit District and a political subdivision of Texas (which Texas Transportation Code Chapter 458 authorized) and therefore receives state funds for public transit services. REAL serves nine counties in the Coastal Bend area of South Texas, including Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Live Oak, Refugio, and San Patricio Counties.
