AI infrastructure startup Pipeshift today announced their $2.5 Million seed round. This round was led by Y Combinator and SenseAI Ventures, with additional participation from Arka Venture Labs, Good News Ventures, Nivesha Ventures, Astir VC, GradCapital, and MyAsiaVC. Over 80% of enterprises are turning to open-source AI models. However, the challenge isn’t accessing powerful models, rather it’s deploying them efficiently and securely. Today, companies must stitch together more than 10 different components just to begin deployment, with each optimization requiring thousands of engineering hours. To solve this challenge, launching a new-age Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) that enables engineering teams to orchestrate AI workloads across any infrastructure – cloud or on-premises – with unprecedented speed and control.

Unlike existing players who are GPU-brokers offering one-size-fits-all solutions, Pipeshift understands the enterprise need for control and flexibility of infrastructure and offers an end-to-end MLOps stack for enterprises to train, deploy, and scale open-source GenAI models — LLMs, vision models, audio models, and image models — across any cloud or on-prem GPUs. Swiss multinational Givaudan is planning a $130 million investment that will see it create hundreds of jobs at the former Dow Chemical plant in Reading. Givaudan Flavors Corp., one of the largest manufacturers of flavors and fragrances in the world, intends to build a 100,000-square-foot facility at 2000 West St. to support a new line of business. The 25-acre site on West Street has been vacant since Dow Chemical left in 2014. The new facility is expected to cost $80 million to build and $50 million to outfit with new machinery and equipment. Givaudan employs hundreds in the region, including 576 at the company’s North American headquarters at 1199 Edison Dr. in the city of Cincinnati’s Bond Hill neighborhood; 306 at a facility on E. 69th St. in the city’s Carthage neighborhood; and some number at a facility in Florence. The company intends to move 220 of the jobs from the Carthage facility to the forthcoming Reading facility, of which it promises to backfill 218 at the Cincinnati facility over the term of the 15-year enterprise zone agreement. The company is expected to employ 308 at the Reading facility within 15 years, representing a total annual payroll of $23.1 million. The facility is expected to open in 2027 and host an initial count of 134 employees before maxing out in 2038. By the end of the 15-year agreement term, the company expected to employ 1,188 in Hamilton County alone, up from 882.

According to the company website Air traffic doubles every 15 years yet aerospace is constrained by a few key levers: pilots, aircraft, and propellant. The industry can’t continue to grow on fossil fuels alone. Production of jet fuel from oil will have to double from 100M to 200MM barrels per day. SAF is the only path to scale the requisite fuel volume required for ongoing growth while achieving IATA emissions targets. As SAF production grows, limitless feedstocks will be required. Production pathways that can efficiently transform more abundant and flexible feedstocks into SAF will emerge as the dominant SAF producers.
