Houston, Texas — According to state and local economic development sources The Ion Houston plans to invest $900,000.00 to build out 8,575 square feet of new space in Houston. The company plans to occupy the new space at 4201 Main Street in Houston, on or about November 1, 2021. According to the company website The Ion is a 300,000square-foot structure designed to bring Houston’s entrepreneurial, corporate, and academic communities together into collaborative spaces and programs. The former Sears Building will support businesses at all stages of the innovation lifecycle and provide resources for Houstonians seeking to participate in the innovation economy as a part of the South Main Innovation District. The Ion fosters a community and culture where corporate innovators, academic partners, community partners, startups, and entrepreneurs come together to solve some of the world’s greatest problems.
