Georgetown, Kentucky — According to state and local economic development sources Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky plans to invest $461,000,000.00 to build out new space in Georgetown. The company plans to occupy the new space at 1001 Cherry Blossom Way in Georgetown, on or about December 1, 2024. According to the company website Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, Inc. is an automobile manufacturing factory in Georgetown, Kentucky, United States. It is part of Toyota Motor North America, owned by Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) is Toyotas largest vehicle manufacturing plant in the world, annually capable of producing 550,000 vehicles and more than 600,000 engines. Toyota broke ground in Georgetown, KY., in May of 1986 and two years later (May 1988) produced its first Camry. Since then, more than 12 million vehicles have rolled off Toyotas assembly lines in Kentucky, where full-time employment is more than 8,000. In addition to the Camry, Americas best-selling car, TMMK manufactures the Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, Lexus ES 300h and Lexus ES 350, as well as four-cylinder and V-6 engines.
