Brenham, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Washington County EMS plans to invest $1,500,000.00 to build out 10,000 square feet of new space in Brenham. The company plans to occupy the new space at 21961 LBJ Drive in Brenham, on or about June 1, 2026. According to the company website Created in 1979, Washington County Emergency Medical Service has been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Our service covers a geographical area of approximately 700 sq. miles. With two major bodies of water within our service area, the Brazos River bordering the eastern boundary of the county and Lake Somerville the waterways brings nearly a 1 million visitors a year to the area. Washington County is a true 3rd Service Model EMS Department. Completely separate from the Police and Fire Departments.
