With a $2.4 million token round led by Spark Capital, the nonprofit Antseed Foundation offers an open peer-to-peer market for buying and selling access to AI models. With providers competing on every request, leading models are available at up to 97% below official API prices.
[October 6, 2026] – Antseed, the open peer-to-peer market for AI inference, today announced the launch of its platform for flexible, limitless, and affordable AI access. The launch comes alongside a $2.4 million token round for the non-profit Antseed Foundation, led by Spark Capital, an early investor in Anthropic, with participation from Collider, DCG, North Island Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures, Relay Capital, and Venice.ai.
Antseed’s open marketplace enables anyone to route AI requests across hundreds of providers, including mainstream and independent ones, through a self-hosted local router. Rather than relying on a centralized gateway that determines available providers, routing, access, and cost, Antseed gives developers flexibility in how they source AI inference, the compute used each time an AI model processes a request and generates a response, based on their preferences for cost, performance, and privacy. With providers competing directly and running models on their own hardware or offering compute capacity they already hold, the marketplace offers significant savings, with leading models available at up to 97% below official API prices.
The launch comes as inference becomes a larger component of AI spending, with Gartner projecting worldwide spending on AI cloud infrastructure will grow 96% to reach $42 billion in 2026. Practically, that means maintaining separate accounts, credentials, and billing relationships with individual AI providers, or as has become the norm, sending traffic through a centralized middleman. That momentum is already reflected in how the market values the layer sitting between developers and AI models. In August 2026, Stripe agreed to acquire OpenRouter, a centralized aggregator of AI models, for more than $7 billion.
As developers deploy more AI-powered applications, coding tools, and autonomous agents, they are increasingly managing workloads that require different models, providers, performance profiles, and privacy requirements, all while struggling to keep their growing costs in check. With a handful of companies in full control of costs and usage limits, the impact of unpredictable pricing increases on a company’s bottom line, as well as the provider’s access to user data, has become a central concern for organizations.
Antseed removes that dependency. Providers list inference capacity and set their own prices, with each provider verified for the models it claims to serve. Providers that fail verification have their reputation decrease and lose routing priority. Developers keep the application workflows they already have, with no account for a single company to cap, suspend, or log, and can select or configure routing based on factors such as price, latency, reputation, model capability, and privacy preferences.
“What BitTorrent did for files, Antseed is doing for AI inference, with no central server, and no company deciding who gets access or what it costs,” said Amos Meiri, co-founder of Antseed. “As agents make more model calls and inference becomes a material operating cost, developers need a simple way to route each request based on price, performance, capability and privacy. Antseed gives them one compatible local endpoint and access to a competitive market of independent providers, without locking their applications into a single centralized gateway.”
That structure is what makes Antseed’s four core promises possible:
- Competitive pricing: Providers set their own prices and compete for demand in an open market. Developers can view available offers and route requests based on their budget and performance requirements, rather than accepting fixed pricing from a single centralized platform.
- Anonymous by design: Antseed does not require a central account, sign-up, email address, or platform-issued API key to route requests. Its router runs locally, and users can select TEE-verified providers when hardware-backed prompt confidentiality is available and appropriate for their workloads.
- Unrestricted provider and model choice: Rather than relying on a centralized gateway to determine which providers are available, developers can access services listed by independent network providers.
- Flexible, pay-per-request access: Developers pay for the requests they make instead of committing to a subscription tier, and can change providers or routing criteria as project requirements evolve. As of September 2026, independent on-chain analytics show the network has processed nearly 150 billion tokens across 202 active sellers, with more than $285,000 settled to date.
“Inference is becoming to AI businesses what fuel is to airlines, a core operating cost that companies need to manage as they scale, and right now a handful of companies control the wells,” said Santo Politi, Co-Founder and General Partner at Spark Capital. “Antseed is the counterweight to that centralized control, serving as a decentralized, open market that gives developers the freedom to choose how they source compute, while creating a direct market for providers to compete.”

About Antseed
Antseed is an open peer-to-peer market for AI inference. Its locally run router enables developers to access a network of independent AI inference providers through a compatible endpoint, with routing based on user-defined priorities including price, performance, reliability, and privacy. Antseed is building infrastructure intended to make AI inference more open, competitive, and accessible for developers and providers. Learn more at antseed.com.
