Two Tenant Signings Drive Leasing Momentum at Opus’ Merrillville Industrial Development

Merrillville, Ind., October 27, 2026 – Opus today announced that Merrillville Industrial, a 289,080-square-foot Class A speculative industrial building at 8719 Mississippi Street in Merrillville, Indiana, is nearly 80% leased following two recent tenant signings. 

Vision Wheel, a national distributor of automotive wheels, is relocating their Chicagoland division from Portage, Indiana, into 75,430 square feet on the north end of Merrillville Industrial. A second tenant, a nationwide supplier of water and wastewater infrastructure products, is relocating into 151,740 square feet on the south end, more than doubling their footprint. 

Both companies sought newer, more functional space near their employee bases and with room to accommodate future growth.

“These leases are an important milestone for Merrillville and reflect the demand we’re seeing for modern industrial space in Northwest Indiana,” said Brett Tomfohrde, director of real estate development with Opus. “Companies are looking for facilities that meet their operational needs today with the flexibility to support future growth, and that’s a hallmark of our industrial projects. The interest we’re seeing in the remaining space gives us confidence in the building’s continued leasing momentum.”

That interest extends to the remaining 61,910 square feet, which Ryan Klink, managing director with Cushman & Wakefield, is marketing for lease.
